Solution: Text messaging technology for Xerox
Printer supplier Xerox has gone from digital to mobile solutions in a bid to streamline its engineering management system. With the help of Dialogue Communications, Xerox implemented a cost-effective SMS solution, which provided field engineers with detailed job schedules that could be monitored and disseminated quickly and efficiently.
Xerox is the world's leading document management technology company and was looking for a communications solution to help it manage its remote-working engineers from its call centre. Calls to engineer’s mobile phones were proving very expensive and by implementing Dialogue’s technology, Xerox was able to send large quantities of information to its engineers economically.
Dialogue developed a text service for Xerox in the form of a unique coding system, so that in the space of 160 characters, engineers could be given the information they needed to complete a job. This information included the type of call out, customer postcode, telephone number, contact and even the serial number of the machine requiring attention. This meant that engineers were able to receive information without being interrupted on a call and without having to contact a call center operative.
